Porgès buried in Vienna

This page presents the complete IKG-Wien (Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien) cemetery register of 100 named Porgès burials across the four Vienna Jewish cemeteries from 1840 to 1956. The register is the official source published by the Vienna Jewish community at friedhof.ikg-wien.at and is the most precise dating reference available for the Vienna branch of the Bohemian Porges family network.

Cemetery distribution : 62 burials at the Wiener Zentralfriedhof Tor I (Israelite section, opened 1879) ; 25 at Tor IV (Israelite section, opened 1917) ; 12 at the older Währinger Friedhof (closed 1879) ; 1 at Baden bei Wien. The register documents only Porgès who maintained Jewish religious affiliation through their burial — Christian-convert Porges descendants buried at the Döblinger or Oberdöblinger municipal cemeteries are systematically absent (see the separate page PorgesViennaIKG-Overview.html for analysis).

Sources and methodology

The register data is taken from the IKG-Wien cemetery cadastre at friedhof.ikg-wien.at, accessed in May 2026. The 100 records cover all Porgès burials in the four Vienna IKG cemeteries from 1840 to 1956. Cross-references to the existing porges.net site pages and to the obituary corpus (Texts__Wien_Obituaries + Texts__Prag_Obituaries) are integrated in the rightmost column.

For analytical commentary on the family-plot patterns, the Holocaust-era burials, and the absent Christian-convert sub-population, see the companion page PorgesViennaIKG-Overview.html.
